Worn Out Batteries

Worn Out Batteries
If I put my Ipod to a docking station that charges the ipod, would it still work when the battery wears out?

You know iPods have non-replaceable battery (unless you pay Apple to replace it)

I have a speaker that has an ipod dock which also charges the iPod.

If I leave my iPod on it all the time, the battery will naturally wear out much more faster.

My question is, I never use my iPod other than listening it through my speakers. In other words, it can be always on the dock. It would not be a problem for me. So, when the battery wears out completely, would my iPod work nonetheless because of being charged through the dock?

Thanks!

PS. For the purposes of this question, please think of an ipod whose battery is completely worn out-- that is, when you take it from the dock, it almost instantly turns off due to the insufficient battery.

sounds like you need a new battery, I wish it were possible to resurrect a worn out battery, since the dock provides a constant power source it acts as life support...I have an old IPOD docked for use with speakers, and another for on-the-go.
