need quick help with Ford ranger (motor trouble)?
well my uncle told me i could have this old ranger of his that was settin next to the road if i went and got it, i did and knew that something was wrong with it, turns put it has a rod knocking and im gonna pull the engine and have everything unbolted and all the wires off, but have 2 questions, 1 how do i get the fan off? iv tried and tried and cant figure out how to 2 how should i hook the chains up to it to pull it? theres isnt a pull hook, and idk how to do it yet, if it matters i think its an early 90s model(haven't gotten the title yet)and its teh 2.9L V6, thanks for any help

2. The fan shroud is bolted on from the bottom, two bolts. Should lift out after that.
3. When I pull my engines, I take a couple of bolts out of the intake manifold. I take a little longer bolt and bolt the chain links on finger tight. Then loop the chain to the hoist. I use other bolts to secure the chain links to the position I need. Make sure you take the hood off before you hoist the engine.
