Why won't my car alarm disarm after periods of heavy rain?
I have a Warlock car alarm. Sometimes after periods of heavy rain I have trouble disarming the alarm. I have to hold the remote right up to the side of the car for a while to get it to disarm, or else unlock the door with the key (which sets the alarm off) and sit inside the car with the remote held up to the dashboard to disarm it.
I don't think it's the remote, because most of the time I can arm/disarm the alarm from 10 metres away. Could it be that water is getting into one of the sensors, say the bonnet sensor, and confusing the alarm?
Cheers.
That could be one possibility, but the fact that it only happens when it is raining, would make me think that you have a bad ground to it. A resistive ground can play havoc with the electronic.
