Concerned about plastics in the microwave I use a Nordic polypropylene plate cover - should I...?

a polyglass one? I don't know what either polypropylene or polyglass are: are they plastic? Are they safe or will something leach into the food?
The chemical people are getting spastic about is called BPA (Bisphenol-A). It's used in some plastics to make them more... plasticky.
BPA is used mostly in polycarbonate products. They're usually marked with the recycling code 7.
Polyethylene products don't contain BPA. "Polyglass" is a fiberglass, not a plastic, and it doesn't use BPA, either.
In fact, most food products don't use BPA. The most common ones are Nalgene bottles, very durable polycarbonate bottles. There is considerable dispute as to whether they contain enough BPA to make a difference, and whether it really leaches out if it doesn, but they're phasing BPA out of the formula anyway.
