I'm going to be installing a whole house surge protector made by Sycom. Installation looks very straighfoward but I have a question regarding how to properly wire it. The instuctions show the surge protector being connected to 2 separate single pole breakers or possibly a double pole breaker...the diagram doesnt really specifiy. Also, the diagram shows the surge protector attached to existing breakers that are providing power to the house. I wanted to make sure that this is accurate as other surge protectors that I looked into specifically required that I have 2 "available" 15 amp breakers.
So I ahve 2 questions:
-Can I install on 2 existing breakers along with the what is already running on those breakers
-Can it be installed on 2 separate single pole breakers or does it need to be a double pole breaker?

I know that having 2 wires on one breaker is against code in the US but it's not powering a separate circuit so I wasnt sure if it was ok.
You really should use a double pole breaker.
That way you're sure to have a breaker on each "leg".
If you don't have two open spaces next to each other, get two "tandem"
breakers that are UL-listed for the panel you have, and have a licensed electrician install them.
