My brother was visiting for the weekend and had the ceiling fan on. He flipped the "reverse direction" switch while the fan was still running. Now the fan won't turn on at all, either direction. The light on the fan still works. When I try turning the fan on, I can hear a buzz as if the motor is initiating, but the blades don't turn. Is this fixable?
i tried pushing one of the blades to give it a head start but it didnt work
its three yrs old...it was installed when we build our home. i do have a maid who should be dusting out the fans but im not sure
try giving the fan blade a little push to help start it
