Ray Double Switch

Have Direct TV ,DVD/Blu-ray player, and LG LCD flat screen (almost 2 yr old) All 3 have only one HDMI port. I dont want to unhook the Direct TV HDMI cable into the DVD/Blu-ray everytime if possible, and dont want to sacrifice the picture by using the audio/video componets(red,yellow,white). Will a male HDMI to a double HDMI female Y splitter allow me to switch back and forth between the DVD blu-ray and television without unplugging cord? The male end of the Y would connect to the TV, while a cord from the Direct TV and DVD/Blu-ray would each connect into their own female port of the Y. Would this work? If not, any suggestions?
