I'm working my cell phone and have come up against a problem dealing with the four contact on the battery?
I am adding a solar panel and im going to add wires coming out form the battery so i can use a multimeter to test the voltage of the battery while the phone is on, Do certain sets of contacts on the battery serve a a single purpose (like charging, or power to cellphone). Which contacts should i conect each to.

This question could not possibly be answered, because it depends on the phone/battery. One of the leads is most likely a positive, the other a negative. And the remaining leads are probably for charging. Usually they will indicate the +, but that is it. You will have to do some reverse engineering with a meter and try to figure it out.
