Which states have now made the switch to the flat printed license plate?
I have noticed for some time as I drive around I see that states are switching to the flat printed license plate. It would be interesting to know if the flat plate technology is all offered by the same company (or not) from state to state. Here are the states I'm aware of that have switched over:
Washington
Idaho
Montana
Wyoming
Nevada
Arizona
Colorado
Tennessee
Iowa
U.S. Government (not a state of course)
Delaware (was the first one but theirs is a different technology from the current wave of flat plates of the 2000's)
What other states (or even Canadian Provinces or Mexican States) have also made the switch?
You can add Oklahoma to your list. The reason for the switch is the new technology which allows police cars so equipped to read every plate around them, and check to see if there is a wanted or stolen on the plate.
