I am trying to make paper mache masks who can help me?
I want to make a series of various decorated masks, it's one thing I've wanted since I was about 10. I'm using a plastic craft mask as a base, and put paper mache over top. I always do then ask. Do I need a mold release so that the mache will release from the mask? Would the oil I used work? Should I use dish soap instead? What are some tips some experts can give me. Thanks in advance!
use wallpaper paste and newspaper, ripp 2 inch wide and 7 inch long off the newspaper.
make a paste-water mix, as thick as yoghurt, soak in the paper rips
You can use a big balloon, cover it with 3 layers of soaked newspaper, let dry, then again 3 layers of paper.
when you cut the balloon, the paper stays solid.
