A poem I wrote... reactions? Comments? Critiques? Just what you think?
It's called "Where the Flowers Grow."
Back when the world
Was at war with itself
A boy waved adieu to his love,
As time soared by
He emerged out of death
And ached for his patient dove.
Her letters had stopped
But his heart kept a' beating
Reminiscence of the days past,
Just imagine the stirring
In one heart so young
When he found her family at last.
They trembled and gazed
At the poor wand'ring boy
And told him to yonder go,
"Down in the forest
And deep in the meadow
To where the flowers grow."
He emerged from the briers
And found in a clearing
A field full of poppies red,
And ne'er did he see her
But tripped on a stone--
A single tear fell as he read:
"Here sleeps an angel
Of virtue and youth
Silent in darkness below,
Let her soul dance in happiness
Body be still
And rest where the flowers grow."
Thank you so much for reading. Do you have any critiques, or what was your reaction?
And is it too cheesy? Or not?
Thank you
Its not cheesy at all, I could really feel the meanings in the poem almost like a clear story
it was really nice. Keep it up.
