Can I add an on off switch to a single low voltage (12v) outdoor light?
I have landscape lighting in my back yard running off a 900 watt transformer. I would like to have a single low voltage light that I can independently turn on and off near my bbq area, but I can't find low voltage on/off switches that I can wire up to just control one light. Is this possible and where can I find a switch like this?
All switches have a voltage and current rating. I.E 120 volt 15 amp. As long as the load you are switching is at or below these ratings it is safe and legal to use. Make sure the outlet box and cover are weatherproof. The person at your local hardware store should be able to show you what you need.
