In our main panel box, we have a double-pole, single throw 15 amp breaker which is running the kitchen lights, the hallway lights, the porch light, garage lights and garage door opener. We thought we had the problem fixed, but today the breaker tripped again and won't come back on. Anyone have any thoughts. We think we may have a short, but do not know how to determine where it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Firstly you need to take out the double pole breaker, replace it with two single pole breakers 15 Amp and spread the load between the two breaker, this will probably solve your problem. If the problem still persists it will only be on one breaker, and what you will need to do is take all the wires out form the out put side and then connect them one at a time till you find which line is causing the problem. when you find the line that is causing the problem you will then need to go through all the ceiling roses and the cable till you find the problem., But as i say i am fairly confident that just replaceing the double pole breaker will solve your problem
