If I produced an instructional video on changing a fuse box to a circuit breaker panel, would HGTV air it?
Suppose I did a complete service change (from 60A with fuses to 100A with circuit breakers), and produced a video detailing everything that I was doing, and why I was doing each step. Is there any chance that HGTV or the DIY channel would want to air it? It's not a difficult project, and no intervention from Detroit Edison is required in the Metro Detroit area, other than calling them after you're done so they can put a new meter into the new socket base.
It's not dangerous as long as you wear insulating gloves while working with Edison's service feed lines coming from the pole.
Since all electricians have to be certified to do their craft I would not think they would show a dyi project like that one.To many risks and shortcuts people might try and burn their house down. Yes its not that hard of a project to do but there are too many idiots out there.
