I am wanting to do an art project that requires making casts of my hand 6 times. I want to make 6 different casts of my hand. Each time will spell out a new letter of the alphabet in sign language. What I am wondering is: is this website that holds this material what I am looking for? If you scroll toward the bottom, it says the website sells 13 oz bag of alginate. Would this be enough to fit one hand? So then 6 would cost about $42? Thank you for the help. I am trying to find the cheapest prices for ordering the alginate.

Dick Blick is a reliable source - you may be able to find other sources that are less expensive. Note that if you want that much 6 - 13 oz bags are 14.87 pounds and cost $42.54 (plus shipping) while the 4.5 pound box is $33.48 (plus shipping)
I would suggest you call and ask about the size of bag included in the Make-A-Mold Casting Kit for hands because the site http://www.dickblick.com/products/make-a-mold-casting-kits/ doesn't explicitly say how many ounces are in the kit. If you have not used the alginate, I suggest you might find buying one of the kits first to follow the directions and warnings and learn - besides looking at videos and websites on the process.
