I'm looking for a decent pair of flame-resistant gloves for patrols and whatnot. Of course I'm going to be using my hard leather shells for any heavy duty stuff, but for an all-purpose glove I've found that most of the crap we're issued is falling apart within a week. Our supply personnel are useless so I want to take a few extra pairs with me for our upcoming deployment. Any advice is appreciated.

Find a pair that is snug and work some oil into them as you wear them. They'll become really supple in time, almost like a second skin. I've used them baling hay, welding and loading bombs on airplanes for decades.
