How can you produce circular motion on a wheel connected to a platform via a barrel?
Hi there,
I am doing a project regarding green electricity,
i was wondering if anyone could help?
I want to make a circular repetitive motion on a wheel when its connected to a platform with a barrel which moves to a maximum of 4 mm.
any one with ideas regarding compressed fluid or any other type of energy transfer is gratefully appreciated.
Tnx
well basicly this would be a implimented on a step and this pad will move max 4mm and pushed up again by a number of springs,
force acting on the pad will be human weight,
i want to transfer this up and down energy to turn a wheel but i dont know how,
ooh and ure right 4mm is a small scale so how can we amplify it without raising the hight?
what if didn't want to make it repetitive?,
i just need enough to make it turn a complete circle.
huh? The platform is not rotating and the barrel is rotating? Or the barrel is not rotating but is moving back and forth by 4 mm (a very small action) ?
You need to provide a lot more details. What plane is the barrel moving by this 4 mm ? how much force is behind this motion?
edit: so you have a up-down 4mm motion with a force of about 50 kg. A reciprocating motion can be converted to a rotary motion via a crank, such as you see in steam locomotives. The tiny motion means fine machining in the crank, and all the other parts.
The first link below has a good graphic.
