Can you plug a tv into an extension cord?
I want to move my tv but i dont have enough outlets so can i plug it into this extension cord (power strip) that i have. Its one where u push that button down and all the electronics shut off.....
would this be dangerous in ANy way could it cause a fire???
Most 'power strip' outlets that come equipted with a power switch ARE capable of handling the power needs of most TVs --- so, you should be perfectly fine in going forward with this plan of action !
Do not, however, even consider plugging your TV into a lighter gauge -- common household extension cord -- for they are simply NOT heavy duty enough to be safe in the use as power sources for televisions !!
