should my clutch spin freely?
I'm installing a clutch on a 1995 toyota corolla. I've never done one on this particular make/model, and it's giving me trouble. It seems as if my clutch isn't un-engaging resulting in very little to no power to the wheels. Slave cylinder is operational, new release bearing, pressure plate, and clutch disc.
Help. I'm at a loss here.
I recently installed a new clutch on a 1995 toyota corolla. I've never done one on this make/model, and I'm having issues. The clutch doesn't seem to fully engage. The slave cylinder and master cylinders are fine. The clutch does not spin at all, The release bearing is new, as is the pressure plate and clutch disc. This clutch is for the make/model, as it is exactly identical to the old one, and it is from Toyota.
The clutch doesn't seem to fully un-engage, resulting in little to no power at the wheels.
There is no oil/grease on clutch facing.
New flywheel.
I'm confused. Anyone?
engaged or not the clutch componets should not spin freely. The pressure plates are anchored to either the output of the tranny or the rest of the drive train. Sounds like you just need to adjust it better to make it hook up like it needs to.
