i would like to design a new era hat with acrylic paint do i need to use a fabric medium?
the hat is original plain white i want to design an image but im not sure if i can use acrylic paint on it...i dont mind if its a bit hard as its a cap...but would it be waterproof and would the paint chip off?
Go ahead and mix your acrylics with textile medium -- they'll hang on to the fabric better.
Paint isn't a very good waterproofer, if that's something you want. I'd look at treating the fabric with something like one of the Nikwax products after the paint has cured.
