What do you do to relax/feel better?
If you're really stressed, having a bad day, feeling blue.. etc etc, what do you do?
I usually run but lately I've been feeling so down I haven't been going, which is dumb I know, because exercise makes people feel better.
So instead of running I take a really, really hot bath and just submerge myself under the water for a while. It REALLY helps.
What are things other people do though? I can't take steaming hot baths every single day, plus sometimes I feel light headed and too hot when I get out.
..It depends on what is really going on to cause this..If it is something I can work out or work through, then I will, to the best of my ability, and then also come to an acceptance of it, then I will let it go..If I already have to much on my plate or just don't want to deal with this right now, I will put it on the shelf and come back to it later, when I am stronger emotionally/mentally..If this is something that I would get nervous from, I in most cases bake or sew or do puzzles, or housework, basically I will keep busy, but if its something really distressing, I will journal about it, how I feel and think, what, if anything, can I do about it..I also have meditation books I can/do read, and reading my Bible is a great source of comfort and peace for me..I feel relaxed when I'm helping others, also I will watch a feel good movie (Godfather, Home Alone, or Alien usually)..I'm usually a relaxed person most all the time now anyway, so there is not to much that gets me upset or anxious anymore, which comes with age I think..Take care, all the best for 2011..
