Kicker Amp Help Asap?
Ok I have a Kicker Dx700 mono class D amp. The amp is fine but wont work correctly in my truck. All the wires and ran perfect fuses are all ok even by the batt. But When i turn the volume up and the beat hits at its hardest point the amp cuts off and goes into protection mode. I then checked to see if any wires were touching and everything was ok. So I took it in to the pros and they told me that they think i should get a new batt. I had the batt tested and its going dead so heres my other quest. Ive been driving and starting my truck with this weak batt with no problem, so do you think theres a little juice left to put the old battery in my truck to act as a capaciter. Im runnin a 4 gauge kicker wire kit..
I had a kicker amp that was doing the same thing. Wires were perfect.
My problem was that the current draw was too much, and the amp was 'protecting' itself from overheating and being ruined.
To fix it, you'll either have to re-wire the subs to draw less current, turn down the gain on the amp, or get a new amp.
